Did you ever want to know how to knit? Did you want to learn to knit from your Grandmother but never asked?. Or maybe your best friend had a baby and you want to give a gift that comes from the heart. Don't fret, it's never too late to learn how to knit.
Knitting may look hard, but with simple instructions, and a little practice, you can learn how to knit and create professional looking projects in a snap.
Our knitting instructions are divided into five simple lessons that any beginner can follow. And when you're done, we have hundreds of gorgeous yarns and free knitting patterns to choose for your first project.
Knitting Instructions:
Lesson #1: Learn to Make Slip Knot
First things first. Make a simple slip knot to get a start on your first knitting project.
Lesson #2: Learn to Cast On
Casting on may look complicated, but it's knot (we couldn't resist). After this lesson, your yarn will be on the needle and you will be well on your way to your first stitch.
Lesson #3: Learn to Knit
The first stitch to learn is easy. You can knit an entire project with this one stitch. Hats, scarves and seaters all look great with this one stitch.
#4: Learn to Purl
Think knit was easy? Try her partner purl. This is the second basic stitch. Together knit and purl make up most of the kntting patterns around. Didn't think knitting would be this easy, did you?
Lesson #5: Learn to Bind Off
You are almost finished! Binding off is the last step to finishing any knitting project. You're probably sorry it's finished this quickly. Don't worry, there are plenty of things to knit.
