We have so many special workshops, events, book signings, and trunk shows scheduled, alongside our popular regularly scheduled classes, we decided to put it all together for you below. Don’t miss them! More coming so stay tuned on our website, theyarnco.com and check our events and classes pages. 

On May 18, we begin our week long trunk show to celebrate the latest book in the bestselling 60 Quick Knits series,60 Quick Baby Knits. Come see the sweetest of throws, afghans and cuddlies, all new patterns by tomorrow’s star knitwear designers, and pick out some projects to make for your favorite bambinos. The trunk show will be on display through the 24th, with projects for all skill levels.

On June 1, we welcome Iceland’s Védís Jonsdottír for a presentation on her work designing colors, patterns, and seamless garments for Ístex (Iceland’s producer of lopi yarn) and also knitting stunning 3D objects, last seen at Vogue Knitting live 2013. She will also be signing her beautiful new book, Knitting with Icelandic Wool. Be sure to pick up some lopi yarn while you’re here---lopi and the book will be 10% off on June 1! (Event is free but space limited, R.S.V.P.) 

On Saturday June 2, Brazilian designer Gabriela Serigatto is coming for a much-anticipated workshop (3-5pm). Known for her sci-fi sculptural garments, Gabriela takes her inspiration from nature, and works in an earthy palette to produce fantastic organic-looking pieces that drape, fold and protrude as if growing from the body. She returns to The Yarn Company to teach lucky participants freeform crochet, and will debut a design just for us! (3-5 p.m., $70). 

On Saturday June 8, Ann Weaver returns to The Yarn Company to teach her “Color Theory and Albers Cowl” workshop, in which we will expand our knowledge of colors (see below for details; 10-noon, $75).

On Sunday June 9,  from 3-5 pm, Nicky Epstein! Book Launch! Trunk Show and Book Signing, for Nicky Esptein Knits for Dolls. Meet and Greet with Nicky and see the fabulous garments on dolls!

Then on June 15, the amazing indie designer Toby Roxane comes to The Yarn Company! Toby is creating four exclusive patterns for us (!), and will present a trunk show and sign her new book, London Underground (2-4 p.m., free, R.S.V.P.).

Looking ahead to the evening of September 21, Laura Zukaite will bring us her “Little Dream Sweater Workshop,” teaching participants how to create the hugely dreamy sweater from her “You and I” collection. Oh the anticipation! This sweater is in Laura’s latest exclusive Lorna’s Laces colorway for The Yarn Company, Sheep’s Meadow, and we can’t wait to get started on that luscious green, from the Urban Underground series (10 a.m. to 1 p.m., $75).

There is always something happening at The Yarn Company! On Mondays evenings, designer Irina Poludnenko offers private sessions 6-7 p.m., $50  On Tuesdays 7-9 p.m., designer Donna Panner teaches Spinning II (Wheel), $325/8 weeks. On alternate Tuesdays Donna teaches “Two-at-a-Time Toe-Up Socks,” 7-9 p.m., $80/2 weeks. On Wednesdays we have Donna teaching Spinning I (Drop Spindle), 6:30-8:30, $180/4 weeks, plus 3 optional classes at $50 each, or $295 for full 7 classes. Thursdays, David van Buskirk holds a private weaving class, 6-8 p.m.—by appointment only; other times available. Friday evening we have a Beginner Machine Sewing course for adults, 6-8 p.m., $240/3 weeks. In the world of crochet, Ilona Kotik teaches “Crochet Critters” on Saturdays 1:30-2:30, $30, all levels welcome.

From 11:30 to 12:30 on Sundays, Amy Tyszkiewicz teaches knitting for absolute beginners ($28); then from 1 to 3 p.m. Amy leads a knitting Study Hall ($50 per session, or $175 for package of 4). Jasmine Pai is now offering private evening classes in Machine Sewing (after 6 p.m.) by appointment only ($50/hour); and on Sundays, from 10-11 a.m., she leads a semi-private class in Hand Sewing ($50). Teva Durham is also giving private evening lessons by appointment: Knit, Crochet or Design, for all levels 1.5 hours, $75. On Saturdays, Gabriela Serigatto offers her “Crochet/3D Crochet/Tatting” workshop, 3-5 p.m. ($50/session, $175/package of 4 sessions---may be combined with Knitting Study Hall). Then on Sunday afternoons, Rebecca Klassen gives us “Intro to Heddle Weaving,” a semi-private class 2-3 p.m., $50
